Adaptive Multi Rate (or AMR) is an audio compression scheme used in GMS and UMTS mobile networks.

TelcoBridges and AMR

TelcoBridges supports AMR encoding and decoding. Due to patents, a software license is required to use it in a production environment.

The following options are available:

  • packet duration options of 20, 40, 60, and 80 ms
  • bit rates of 4.75, 5.15, 5.90, 6.70, 7.40, 7.95, 10.2, and 12.2 kbps
