Non-Facility Associated Signaling (or NFAS) is the ability for multiple T1 trunks to use a common signaling channel. Consequently NFAS enables the service provider to reduce the number of ISDN stacks required to provide service, as well as the number of D channels used, saving operating expenses in the process.
