General description

The TelcoBridges™ Tdev TMP6400 is a high-availability value-added services development platform that meets the needs of service providers and solution developers looking to drive network convergence or expand their service offerings.

Sitting at the junction of existing infrastructure and the new network footprint, the TMP6400 provides core media gateway functionality allowing it to bridge TDM and IP networks, intermediate between various wireless, PSTN and IP voice protocols, and deliver hosted IP-PBX, Fax over IP, SIP trunking, voicemail, conferencing and other advanced services. However the TMP6400 builds on those capabilities with an advanced application platform for delivering enhanced network-wide services such as unified communications, ringback tones, and prepaid & postpaid services. Leveraging the TelcoBridges Toolpack development software and well-known programming languages running on an external application server, the TMP6400 provides the ability to rapidly develop and deploy applications that tie together real-time communications from the network with stored external data sources to provide unique subscriber-specific services.

Offering the industry-leading highest port density and the lowest operating cost—an average 2/3rds less power consumption than competing products offering similar capacity—the fully field-upgradable Tdev TMP6400 supports the drive by service providers to reduce the environmental impact of their network footprint and increase their green credentials.

Features & Benefits

Carrier grade: Architected to exacting industry standards such as NEBS level 3, the TMP6400 is designed to meet the need for five 9s reliability that service providers and their customers demand. The TMP6400 offers redundancy while providing real-time fault detection and fail-over across hardware and software.

Flexibility: A network-agnostic platform, the TMP6400 supports multiple ‘any-to-any’ switching as well as transcoding support for all major wireline, wireless and Internet voice codecs. With separate chipsets for signaling, vocoding and interactive voice response (IVR), the TMP6400 provides true full channel availability.

Density: Supporting up to 64 T1/E1/J1, 3 DS-3 or 1 STM-1 interfaces in a single-unit, the TMP6400 offers significant density in a 1U or 2U form factor. Arrayed in clusters of up to 16 units each, the TMP6400 supports 1024 T1/E1/J1, 48 DS-3, or 16 STM-1 interfaces, providing more than 32,000 non-blocking voice ports at an industry-leading lowest cost per port.

High availability: The TMP6400 features redundant, fault-tolerant hardware and software components within each unit and across the cluster providing high-availability for both SS7 signalling and core media gateway functions.
