The Web Portal is the principal means of interacting with a Tmedia VoIP gateway or a Tdev development platform. It is where the actual configuration of the device takes place. It is here that you tell the device about the available network resources, how to manage the different media formats that may be encountered, as well as how to originate, respond to, and manage phone calls or faxes.

With its operations, maintenance, administration and provisioning (OAM&P) capabilities, the Web Portal is also the principal interface for day-to-day interactions. These include the ability to view statistics and alarms to provide continuous system performance and perform health monitoring.

You can also use the Web Portal for more point-in-time requirements such as performing software upgrades, modifying existing production systems to meet new business requirements, or adding new devices or capacity to existing production systems.

The Web Portal also facilitates configuration management, with the ability to create, validate, and then push out new device configurations. It also supports the ability to easily roll back to previous production configurations as well.

Connecting to the Web Portal

You connect to the Web Portal with the recent version of a popular web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. The address you connect to will be either the LAN machine name or the IP address of the device, followed by the port number. This port number is specific to the system ID, which is 12358 by default.


Web Portal Sections

As of Toolpack v2.5, the Web Portal is divided up into eight major sections reflected in the navigation bar located on the left-hand side of the portal. These are:

  1. Status -- series of screens providing overall system status as well as the status of various active applications, services, interfaces, and protocols
  2. Users -- list of all individuals with access to the system
  3. Logs -- view or download records of system activity
  4. Backups -- create, download or restore copies of the overall system configuration data
  5. Packages -- list of installed releases of the system software
  6. Systems -- list of hardware devices and configuration settings
  7. Configurations -- list of settings that have been created for a device
  8. Gateway -- options for configuring network access points, call detail records, calling routes, etc.
