States information indicates the current state of the MTP2 Link. This information can be used to determine the quality of service. Status information can be gathered at any time by the host. Collection of status information does not change any information examined.

Congestion Status
The MTP2 Local Congestion Status parameter indicates the current flow control state from the host. The following values are allowed:
Local Congestion Status | Description |
---|---|
No Change | Used to leave the setting as it is during 'SET' operation. |
On | Local congestion activated |
Off | Local congestion deactivated |
Data Link Status
The Data Link Status parameter indicates the current data link. The following values are allowed:
Data Link Status | Description |
---|---|
Enabled | Data link is enabled |
Disabled | Data link is disabled |
Alarm Generation Status
The Alarm Generation State parameter indicates the current alarm generation state. The following values are allowed:
Alarm Generation Status | Description |
---|---|
Activated | Alarms are reported to the host |
Disactivated | Alarms are not reported to the host |
Local Processor Outage Status
The Local Processor Outage State parameter indicates the current local processor outage condition. The following values are allowed:
Local Processor Outage Status | Description |
---|---|
Activated | Local processor is getting short on CPU |
Disactivated | Local processor has recovered from "no more CPU" condition |
Other parameters
The following additional parameters are visible by clicking on the 'Extended status' checkbox as in the second, third and fourth screenshots on the right.
- The Up flag indicates if the current state of a MTP2 link is up or down. Possible values are 'True' or 'False'
- The Aligned flag indicates if the link is aligned or not. Possible values are 'True' or 'False'
- The Remote processor outage flag indicates if the remote end processor outage is started. Possible values are 'True' or 'False'
- The Flow control flag indicates a local congestion from the MTP2 link. Possible values are 'True' or 'False'
- The Remote congested flag indicates a remote congestion. Possible values are 'True' or 'False'
- The Number outstanding frame parameter indicates the number of outstanding frames in MTP layer 1
- The Number dropped frame parameter indicates the number of frames dropped by the MTP layer 1
- The Current forward sequence parameter indicates the current forward sequence number
- The Current backward sequence parameter indicates the current backward sequence number
- The Retransmission count parameter indicates the retransmission count of MSUs
- The Transmit queue size parameter indicates the current transmit queue size
