HTTPS is a protocol for secure communication over a computer network which is widely used on the Internet. HTTPS consist of communication over Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) within a connection encrypted by Transport Layer Security. HTTPS is used to provide authentication of a website as well as bidirectional encryption of the communications between client and server.

TelcoBridges and HTTPS

When using the TelcoBridges Web Portal, it is possible to configure the Web Portal to support HTTPS. However, only the encryption functionality is used, since the web server hosting the Web Portal does not authenticate itself. As a result, a first connection to a Web Portal using HTTPS will display a message indicating that the security certificate is invalid. To proceed, simply add an exception to your web browser to access the Web Portal with HTTPS.
