The Web Portal is the principal way to interact with the session border controller. It is how the actual configuration of the device takes place. Using the Web Portal you tell the device about its available network resources.

With its operations, maintenance, administration and provisioning (OAM&P) capabilities, the Web Portal is also the principal interface for day-to-day interactions with the equipment, such as viewing statistics and alarms, providing continuous system performance and health monitoring.

You can also use the Web Portal for more point-in-time requirements, such as performing software upgrades, modifying existing production systems to meet new business requirements, or adding new devices or capacity to existing production systems.

The Web Portal also facilitates configuration management, with the ability to create, validate, and then push out new device configurations. It also supports the ability to easily roll back to previous production configurations as well.

Connecting to the Web Portal

You connect to the Web Portal with a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. The address you connect to will be either the LAN machine name or the IP address of the device, followed by the port number. The default port number is 12358.

Example (if the management IP address is 192.168.0.100):

 http://192.168.0.100:12358
