TMG800
The TelcoBridges Tmedia™ TMG800 is an extensible media gateway that meets the needs of service providers looking to cost-effectively expand the edge of their network footprint to meet the need for converged network services. The TMG800 provides core media gateway functionality, including SS7, ISDN and SIP signaling in the same device, allowing it to bridge TDM and IP networks, intermediate between various wireless, TDM and IP voice codecs, and deliver other advanced services.
Starting from a single network interface, the TMG800 provides capacity of up to 8 T1/E1/J1 interfaces (up to 256 universal VoIP channels). As service uptake increases, the capabilities of the 1U form factor TMG800 can be extended with hardware expansion cards for VoIP and software license upgrades for TDM.
Leveraging an on-board application server, the TelcoBridges TB Media Gateway application, and built-in storage (CompactFlash), the TMG800 media gateway offers a low footprint approach to extending services such as signaling, transcoding, switching and advanced call routing to the network edge. (Note: Those service providers looking for enhanced application hosting capability in a low-density 1U form factor should consider the Tdev TMP800, which enables applications to be hosted on an external application server.)
