A timeslot refers to a division of a TDM stream or bus. Within the context of the Toolpack framework, a timeslot refers specifically to a single voice or data channel of either 64, 56, or 48 Kbps bandwidth. A timeslot is most often related to a physical trunk (T1/J1 or E1) but can also exist in different hardware internal TDM busses.
